Australia’s coroner has died after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
Coroner James Fauci died at his home in Brisbane on Thursday morning.
He was 71.
The coroner, who had been at a Melbourne hospital since December, had been in a critical condition for two weeks.
A spokesman for the coroner’s office said he was conscious but “extremely ill”.
